Molly & Dave Ragsdale came up with the idea of hosting a summertime 5K in West Palm Beach back in 2004 and Run Palm Beach was created to add running events to the schedule in Palm Beach County.  Back then, the City of West Palm Beach had just invested in many improvements in Dreher Park and the location for the Dash was sent.

Since then, the Dreher Park Dash has hosted close to 8,000 runners, served up countless hamburgers and hot dogs and raised close to $20,000 for local charities.

DAVE RAGSDALE

Dave’s running days started in Middle School with a grueling lap around the local track and it’s been all uphill since there.  In High School, Dave was part of an award winning relay team and enjoyed handing the baton off to his anchor man.  Since then, Dave’s pursuits have been on the roads with 5K’s, 10K’s, Half Marathon’s and Marathons.  Today, running is as much about the lifestyle as it is about the time. Today, Dave prefers to establish Personal Records on a yearly basis as all his best times are somewhere in the past.

At Run Palm Beach, Dave is more of a Ring Leader and ensures that the event is moving in the right direction.

MOLLY RAGSDALE

Molly’s running career began as a sprinter at St. George’s School in Edinburgh, Scotland.  After landing in the States in her high school years, running became more of a past time than a competition.  It was after College that Molly realized her skills at both short (5K) and long distances (marathon).  Some of Molly’s best performances have taken place since 2010 with a Boston Marathon best of 3:12: 39.

At Run Palm Beach, Molly recruits all the volunteers that make each event the success that we plan on.
